Christmas Party!

I don't know what happened!!! I was looking at my pictures at work, and when I came home, they were gone! I don't even know what happened! I couldn't have deleted them cause you have to delete them individually.. I'm sorry that there isn't as many pictures this time ㅠㅠ

Not much has happened at work this past week. Our students are testing in their middle schools. We had an essay contest on our last week of teaching so we've been busy grading the essays. Most of them were pretty bad and a struggle to get through, but once in a while you'd find a gem. Here's what one of my Grade 7 Majors (high level) wrote. The topic was on a subject that you have never had the chance to study and he said "Donating" : 

"Also, there is always someone who has it worse than you. Don't be too damn busy trying to get ahead." I told him this was perfectly written but he should try not to swear in his essays.

This was one of Alan's that I graded: He chose ping pong. 

"First, table. Table is surface about ping pong table. Moreover net assembly. Ball. Racket. Etc. And then rules. For example. Rally. Rally is time. Moreover racket hand. Free hand. Strikes... etc."

On Tuesday, I packed up my Christmas presents to send home. I bought too much bubble wrap so we bubble wrapped Mark to his chair.

We had to cancel sewing on Tuesday because Joon was sick, so we rescheduled it for Friday. We made this little pouch (like the Crown Royal bag).

I went to Daechi to get my gift for the white elephant game for our Christmas party. Its one of those games where you bring a gift under $5 and one by one everyone picks something. If you want, you can steal something that someone else already opened. I bought some Bacchus D, which is this infamous energy drink around at our school. I went to Suzie's classroom to wrap it and everything. I showed Sangah and Suzie my pouch and Sangah immediately said "Oh! A tampon bag!" I was like "Great. Thanks, Sangah"

Justin left to go back to Vancouver on Sunday, and since we had our Christmas party Saturday night, we all went out Friday night. It was fun hanging out with him again and it was sad to see him go. We stayed out pretty late cause no one wanted to leave. 

On Saturday, we had interviews at the elementary school for kids who wanted to get into Song's class at our middle school. I was a little anxious at first, I didn't want to fail anyone. But the kids were so nervous! It was adorable. I always asked them what their parents did for a living and the answers were outrageous. A lot of them were CEOs, one was a higher up at Samsung, one of Alan's was a DNA researcher.. I forget the other ones. But one girl said "My dog makes more money than I do" I didn't even know dogs could make money? She said her dog models for commercials and magazines advertising dog clothes.. I was just like whaaat..

Saturday night was our Christmas party. Nancy and Suzie sent out these invitations:

Our party was at a Brasilian All-You-Can-Eat steak place (compliments of DYB). It was or middle school, the elementary school, and the new branch in Songpa. The steak was really good, but I think I only ate like 3 (they were small). While we were eating we did the white elephant thing. I was number 8 and ended up winning a earflap polar bear hat. I loved it! It was perfect. But then Jen stole it off me and I ended up with a panda pouch will a polly pocket comb/mirror combo (compliments of Ben). Next, we had a Christmas themed pub quiz. My team was Peter, Emily, Kobus, and me. We were killin it every round, but the last question was a bonus where you could wager points you already earned, and we ended up getting passed by teams who went all in. The prize was $10 at Starbucks. Next we had an ugly sweater contest. I had the interviews so I didn't wear a sweater. Plus it was a lot harder than just going to the Salvation Army and buying an ugly sweater. After the contest we took a group picture:

After dinner we went to a bar, then after the bar we went to the singing room and did some karaoke. It was a fun night!

On Sunday Emily, Shyanne, her date from the army, and me went to a barbeque place for dinner. After dinner we went to a ping pong room that Emily and Shyanne are always talking about. It is just in the basement of this building. There are 4 ping pong tables. The ajama and ajeossi that run it were playing at one of the tables and they were so good! We just messed around for an hour and went home. I'm hopefully gonna have a relaxing week, cause the weekend was hectic. Ciao!!!
